Deputy sheriff testifies that judge drank at lunch, texted confession after wife's shooting
Orange County Judge Jeffrey M. Ferguson took the stand in his own defense Thursday afternoon, breaking down as he discussed his drinking, the night of the killing, and his claim that the shooting was unintentional.





A deputy sheriff assigned to Orange County Judge Jeffrey M. Ferguson's courtroom testified Thursday that he never saw Ferguson act violently but acknowledged that the judge drank alcohol at lunch.
Deputy Sheriff Mario Magliano confirmed that he had lunch and drinks with Ferguson but grew less cooperative when asked whether Ferguson carried a Glock 27 on his ankle during those outings.
