San Francisco sues GoShare, claims driver misclassification
San Francisco city attorney sues GoShare, alleging illegal driver misclassification under Proposition 22, claiming excessive control and denial of worker benefits, with experts split on the lawsuit's prospects.
San Francisco City Attorney David Chiu sued last-mile delivery company GoShare, claiming it has illegally misclassified its drivers as independent contractors, but opinion is split on his chances of success.
"Last-mile delivery is growing exponentially. We cannot allow misclassification to take root in this burgeoning industry," Chiu said in a news release Monday.
