$1.6M in fees awarded in Lunada Bay case, $4M was asked

Judge awards $1.6M in attorney fees in the Lunada Bay beach access case, but at least two plaintiffs' counsel may appeal.

A Los Angeles County judge on Wednesday awarded over $1.6 million to the plaintiffs' counsel in the Lunada Bay beach harassment case, which was settled last year.

The parties agreed that the attorney fees awarded to the plaintiffs' counsel would range from $1 million to $4 million. But Judge Lawrence P. Riff's fee award to Kurt A. Franklin and his co-counsel was well below the requested $4 million, and the Fennemore Craig director said he may appeal.
