Orange County supervisors urge DOJ to reexamine former colleague's plea deal

The supervisors expressed alarm that former supervisor Andrew Do's agreement -- limiting him to five years in prison despite significant public fund mismanagement -- may reflect political favoritism.

The Orange County Board of Supervisors asked the U.S. Department of Justice to review a plea agreement reached with former supervisor Andrew Do, arguing that the deal -- which caps his prison term at five years despite his role in a $10 million COVID-relief funding scandal -- is too lenient and fails to reflect the full extent of his alleged corruption.
