Judge ends long-running malicious prosecution battle in OC estate planning dispute

The decision caps a chapter in litigation stretching back to the 1990s, involving complex asset protection schemes, IRS scrutiny, and claims of fiduciary breach.

An Orange County Superior Court judge denied a motion for a new trial in a malicious prosecution case stemming from a business dispute spanning nearly three decades.

Tuesday's ruling ends Dan W. Baer's effort to overturn a February decision in favor of defendants Dennis Hartmann, Richard McGrath, Don Grammer, and several limited partnerships.
