A federal judge in Sacramento ruled Friday that a requirement under state law forcing companies to issue warnings that a chemical used in a wide variety of foods is carcinogenic is unconstitutional.

The summary judgment decision in a case involving dietary acrylamide is a major victory against Proposition 65's food labeling requirements that the California Chamber of Commerce -represented by Hogan Lovells partner Trenton H. Norris - said violated the First Amendment.
