Attorney mulls refiling libel suit against TikTok review-bomber

Irvine attorney James Stout plans to refile a libel lawsuit in state court against a TikTok creator for orchestrating a review-bombing attack, after a federal dismissal on jurisdictional grounds.

A civil attorney in Irvine said Wednesday he's considering restructuring a libel lawsuit against a TikTok creator he claims violated FTC protections by coordinating a review-bombing attack on his firm's online profiles.

The complaint, which uses a new FTC regulation of fake online consumer reviews and endorsements, was dismissed by U.S. District Judge Fred W. Slaughter in Santa Ana last week.
