34 more sanctuary entities ask to join suit over funding

34 additional sanctuary jurisdictions, including Los Angeles, seek to join a lawsuit against the Trump administration for withholding federal funds.

So-called sanctuary jurisdictions accusing the Trump administration of withholding billions in federal funds for failing to cooperate with immigration law enforcement asked a federal judge to add 34 additional cities and counties across the country to the lawsuit, including Los Angeles.

The motion to amend the complaint, filed by San Francisco City Attorney David Chiu and Santa Clary County counsel Tony Lopresti on Tuesday, seeks to bring the number of plaintiff entities to 50. <...
