Los Angeles County settled a consumer protection lawsuit against Peacock TV and NBCUniversal for $3.6 million over claims the streaming service enrolled free trial users in paid subscriptions without their consent or an easy way to cancel.
The Office of County Counsel announced the settlement in a news release on Wednesday, with County Counsel Dawyn R. Harrison lauding the defendants for their cooperation in the matter.
