The Judicial Council is already planning for further cuts in the coming year, even though Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a state budget less than a month ago.
At its Friday meeting, the council also approved new guidelines for artificial intelligence and heard potentially troubling news about the future availability of language interpreters.
