Lawyers warn Eaton Fire clients to reject Edison's compensation program

Plaintiffs' attorneys urge Eaton Fire victims to avoid Southern California Edison's compensation program, calling it a PR move that could shortchange victims compared to legal settlements and ongoing lawsuits over the fire's cause.

Plaintiffs' attorneys are urging Eaton Fire victims to disregard Southern California Edison's wildfire compensation program, which the utility announced on Wednesday.

The attorneys say that the utility's offer to directly compensate fire victims is a PR move that is at odds with the company's posture in the proceedings in Judge Laura A. Seigle's court in downtown Los Angeles.
