No 'fake responses.' Judge urges streamlined discovery in Eaton Canyon fire case

Judge Laura Seigle urged efficiency in discovery for the Eaton Canyon fire litigation, discouraging use of the phrase "fake responses" and suggesting category-based requests as subrogation plaintiffs and Southern California Edison spar over document production.

A Los Angeles County judge pressed attorneys on Wednesday to streamline discovery in litigation over January's Eaton Canyon fire, cautioning against "fake" initial responses. The judge suggested category-based requests after a heated exchange between subrogation plaintiffs and Southern California Edison over the scope of document production.
