A Los Angeles judge ruled that the county's approval of a battery energy storage facility in the unincorporated area of Acton was improper, granting a local advocacy group's petition for writ of mandate.
Judge Curtis A. Kin found that the county violated its own zoning laws when it approved the large-scale energy project within a designated light manufacturing zone. He called the approval "arbitrary and capricious" in his Oct. 14 ruling.
