Visiting Chinese courts: Surprising parallels to U.S. proceedings
Chinese court proceedings share fundamental principles with U.S. courts -- from presumption of innocence to contract law doctrines -- despite significant procedural differences, as a recent judicial field trip confirmed.
In October 2025 I was privileged to be part of a small group of current and retired San Francisco Superior Court judges who visited China. Retired Judge Julie Tang led the group.
