Judge signals limits on Edison executive pay discovery in Eaton Fire cases

A Los Angeles judge indicated Thursday she will narrow a discovery dispute between Eaton Fire victims and Southern California Edison, as plaintiffs press for records they claim show executive compensation and rate-base decisions could have prioritized profits over safety in ways that contributed to the fire's ignition.
Edison has denied responsibility for the Jan. 7, 2025, fire but has instituted an out-of-court, voluntary settlement program.
