San Francisco hospital faces whistleblower retaliation lawsuit amid malpractice claims

A San Francisco hospital already facing two wrongful death lawsuits is now being sued for whistleblower retaliation after a former employee says he was fired for raising patient safety concerns.

A San Francisco hospital accused of malpractice in the deaths of two patients is facing a whistleblower retaliation lawsuit after a former employee said he was fired for reporting unsafe working conditions.

Joe Abuzaid, a former respiratory therapist at Kentfield Hospital San Francisco, filed a whistleblower retaliation lawsuit in San Francisco Superior Court on Tuesday. He claims he was fired for raising concerns about unsafe staffing levels and negligent patient care.
