Jury hears damages claims against Southern California Edison over Thomas Fire
A Los Angeles County jury began a damages-only trial Thursday as cannabis businesses allege the 2017 Thomas Fire and subsequent debris flows destroyed their greenhouses and forced them to shut down.
A Los Angeles County jury on Thursday began hearing evidence in a damages-only trial involving Southern California Edison and two cannabis businesses that say the 2017 Thomas Fire and subsequent debris flows ruined their plants and forced them to close.
The plaintiffs--CA Labs Inc. and Start Inc., along with owner CA Union Cooperative Inc.--are represented by Cappello & Noël LLP partner A. Barry Cappello and say the losses could exceed $20 million.
