SCE files cross-complaint seeking to shift Eaton Fire liability
Southern California Edison and Edison International filed a sweeping cross-complaint claiming that public agencies, emergency responders, and water providers share responsibility for the deadly Eaton Fire, which killed 19 people and destroyed thousands of homes in Altadena. The utility seeks fault allocation and equitable indemnity.
Southern California Edison and its parent company, Edison International, filed a wide-ranging cross-complaint on Jan. 16 that seeks to shift responsibility for damages from the deadly Eaton Fire to public agencies, emergency responders and water providers, deepening already complex wildfire litigation in Los Angeles County.
