Pasadena settles with tenants over wildfire contamination inspections

The settlement requires expanded inspections and enforcement protocols for rental housing affected by wildfire debris. The deal follows the Eaton Fire and clarifies landlords' remediation duties under new state law.

The Pasadena Tenants Union and individual renters announced Wednesday that they have reached a settlement with the city of Pasadena focusing on inspection and enforcement reforms, resolving claims that the city failed to inspect rental housing for toxic contamination after the Eaton Fire.
