Robins Kaplan seeks to remain class counsel after antitrust co-lead departs

Robins Kaplan asked a federal judge to appoint new co-lead counsel after an attorney's departure, arguing continuity and institutional knowledge favor keeping the firm as class counsel in long-running disk drive antitrust litigation.

Robins Kaplan LLP hopes to keep its spot as class counsel in an antitrust lawsuit against several disk drive makers after its attorney serving as the case's co-lead left the firm.

In a motion filed Feb. 6, attorneys Stacey P. Slaughter, a firm partner, and Ellen G. Jalkut petitioned U.S. District Judge Maxine M. Chesney to join Qianwei Fu of Zelle LLP as class counsel for the end-user plaintiffs.

Just days earlier, Fu's previous co-lead, William V. Reiss, withdrew...
