California Democrats push new limits on federal immigration enforcement

California lawmakers may have limited power to rein in the activities of federal immigration officers. But they have made it clear they are going to try.
Last week, legislative Democrats introduced a trio of aggressive bills designed to make it more difficult for Immigration and Customs Enforcement to operate in California. AB 1806 would require the attorney general to investigate shootings by immigration officers. AB 1807 would bar immigration officials from using state property....
