Judge floats joint trial for Uber, Lyft in San Francisco $175M tax refund suits

A San Francisco judge is contemplating a novel approach to Uber's and Lyft's separate tax refund lawsuits against the city -- collectively worth around $175 million -- by trying them at the same time.

At a hearing Wednesday with both rideshare companies, Superior Court Judge Jeffrey S. Ross told the parties he wanted them to have a "joint trial," as there are overlapping tax claims and evidence in the two cases.
