Investors sued PayPal in federal court, alleging executives misled the market about growth prospects and overstated the potential of its branded checkout feature before a 20% stock decline.

A group of investors sued PayPal after its stock fell by more than 20% on Feb. 3, alleging it failed to disclose its true financial outlook.

The complaint, filed by Adam M. Apton of Levi & Korsinsky LLP, claims that PayPal violated the Securities Exchange Act when, on four earnings calls, executives said they were optimistic about the company's financial position and room for growth.
