Final judgment entered in $50M privacy settlement against Meta

Final judgment was entered Monday on a $50 million settlement resolving California's claims that Meta misled Facebook users about third-party data sharing tied to Cambridge Analytica.

Final entry of judgment for a $50 million settlement in California's privacy lawsuit against Facebook owner Meta Platforms was approved Monday by a visiting judge in San Francisco.

The settlement resolves claims that the company misled millions of Facebook users about how their personal information was shared with third-party app developers, including in the run-up to the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
