Elon Musk told a federal jury his tweet pausing the $44 billion Twitter deal was literal and not meant to move markets, as investors claim it was part of a scheme.

The tweet he posted in the early hours of May 13, 2022, saying his $44 billion deal to buy Twitter was "temporarily on hold" may have been "incredibly stupid" if it led to this trial, but he didn't believe it would move the market, Elon Musk conceded from the witness stand Wednesday.
