ExxonMobil taps Hueston Hennigan to lead climate litigation defense
ExxonMobil has selected litigation boutique Hueston Hennigan LLP to lead its defense in more than 30 climate lawsuits filed by states and local governments across the country, replacing longtime outside counsel Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP.
ExxonMobil Corp. has named Hueston Hennigan LLP to replace its current law firm as national coordinating counsel and trial counsel to handle more than 30 climate change cases brought by state attorneys general, counties, and municipalities in state and federal courts in about 20 states.
The plaintiffs allege public nuisance and consumer protection claims in seeking to recover damages for the impacts of climate change.
