Former Girardi Keese lawyer pleads guilty to contempt over Lion Air funds
Former Girardi Keese attorney Keith Griffin pleaded guilty to criminal contempt for failing to ensure $7.5 million in Lion Air settlement funds were distributed to victims' families as ordered by a federal judge in Illinois.
Keith Griffin, a former associate at the now-defunct law firm Girardi Keese, entered a guilty plea Thursday to a federal charge of criminal contempt. The plea, entered before U.S. District Judge LaShonda A. Hunt in the Northern District of Illinois, stems from his role in the failure to distribute settlement funds to relatives of victims of the 2018 Lion Air Flight 610 crash.
