Judge denies UCLA bid to pause Rose Bowl lease dispute

A Los Angeles judge denied UCLA's request to pause a Rose Bowl lease lawsuit, ruling the school must continue litigating despite its appeal over arbitration.

A judge ordered UCLA to keep fighting a lawsuit over its Rose Bowl lease, rejecting the school's attempt to put the case on hold while it pursues arbitration on appeal.

"The Legislature has determined that a case should not be automatically stayed while a party like UCLA appeals a decision denying an arbitration motion," Superior Court Judge Joseph M. Lipner wrote in an order.
