Orange County reaches settlement in animal shelter dog-bite case

A volunteer who said she was bitten at least 18 times during a prolonged attack at a Tustin shelter has conditionally settled claims alleging unsafe conditions and inadequate staffing.

Orange County officials have conditionally settled a negligence and dangerous-condition lawsuit brought by an animal shelter volunteer who alleged a dog named Blaze bit her 18 times during a prolonged attack inside a Tustin kennel where she was left alone with no radio to call for help.
