Judge signals smaller bellwether pool in Eaton Fire cases
A judge backed a scaled-down, phased bellwether process in the Eaton Fire cases, citing concerns that preparing too many claims at once could derail trial timelines.
A Los Angeles judge on Thursday signaled she will scale back the bellwether trial pool in the coordinated Eaton Fire cases involving more than 26,000 plaintiffs, adopting a phased approach, starting with about 75 households for immediate discovery amid disputes over whether the cases can be ready for trial next January.
