Court bars LAPD undercover officers' claims over photo release

The 2nd District Court of Appeal found that litigation privilege shields Los Angeles' disclosure of officer headshots in Public Records Act settlement.

A California appellate court barred nearly 900 current and former undercover Los Angeles Police Department officers from suing the city over the release of their headshot photographs to a journalist, holding that the litigation privilege absolutely shields disclosures made to resolve California Public Records Act litigation.
