Snap, TikTok and YouTube settled with the first bellwether plaintiff in the sprawling social media addiction multidistrict litigation days before trial, leaving Meta as the sole remaining defendant in a closely watched June trial over allegations the platforms were designed to addict children and teens.

Three of the four social media companies in the multidistrict litigation alleging they designed addictive platforms settled with the first bellwether plaintiff ahead of trial, which is slated to begin next month.
