9th Circuit appoints Arizona DOJ attorney to Central District bankruptcy bench
Edward K. Bernatavicius, a longtime trial attorney with the U.S. Trustee Program in Arizona, will serve a 14-year term in the Riverside division, where bankruptcy filings increased more than 14% last year.
Edward K. Bernatavicius was sworn in Monday as a U.S. bankruptcy judge for the Central District of California after being appointed by the judges of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
Bernatavicius begins a 14-year term on the bankruptcy court and will maintain chambers in Riverside. He was sworn in by Chief Bankruptcy Judge Julia W. Brand.
