PG&E to pay state $21M for 2022 Mosquito Fire 

California regulators approved a settlement requiring PG&E to pay a $21 million penalty and fund an outside review stemming from alleged violations connected to the 2022 Mosquito Fire.

Pacific Gas and Electric Co. will pay a $21 million penalty and spend up to $1 million on an outside safety review under a settlement approved Thursday by the California Public Utilities Commission over the 2022 Mosquito Fire.

The settlement comes on top of at least $118 million PG&E agreed to pay this year to resolve civil claims from the fire: $38 million to six local public entities and $80 million to the Placer County Water Agency and Middle Fork Project Finance Authority....
