Judge upholds $2.5M Hyundai trademark verdict, grants permanent injunction

U.S. District Judge Consuelo B. Marshall rejected the defendants' efforts to overturn or reduce the verdict but declined Hyundai Motor's request to increase the award.

A federal judge in Los Angeles on Wednesday ruled that a group of electronics companies can't use the Hyundai name, while upholding a $2.5 million jury verdict for Hyundai Motor Co. and Hyundai Motor America in a trademark dispute over allegedly poor-quality computers and other electronics.
