Judge appoints special master to police Nexstar-Tegna injunction

Chief U.S. District Judge Troy L. Nunley said a special master was warranted because of the defendants' conduct, the case's expedited schedule and the Eastern District of California's long-standing judicial emergency.

A federal judge has appointed a special master to monitor Nexstar Media Group Inc. and Tegna Inc.'s compliance with a preliminary injunction requiring the television companies to remain independently managed while their merger faces an antitrust challenge.
