Overheard lunch conversation fuels privilege fight in LAX people mover case
Los Angeles is seeking to seal references to a deputy city attorney's restaurant conversation that developer LINXS says supports its claims that airport officials sought to obstruct completion of the long-delayed project.
A conversation allegedly overheard at a restaurant near LAX has become the center of a privilege fight in litigation over the airport's long-delayed automated people mover.
Deputy City Attorney Erik Ross said in a declaration filed Thursday that he deliberately chose the "nearly empty" Aliki's Greek Taverna for a March 3 lunch with an airport consultant because he had never seen project personnel there.
