A Carlsbad law firm is turning to the courts in a bid to lower the cost of its Westlaw subscription.
The Rubin Law Firm, PC, sued Thomson Reuters Corp. Thursday, alleging its $650 million acquisition of legal research startup Casetext in 2023 violated federal and state antitrust laws by eliminating a lower-cost competitor and preserving a legal research duopoly dominated by Westlaw and LexisNexis.
