The Los Angeles County Superior Court will resume civil jury trials and criminal trials and preliminary hearings beginning Monday, Presiding Judge Eric C. Taylor announced Wednesday.
The announcement came as the Omicron surge of the COVID-19 virus continues to subside in Los Angeles County. Since early January, Taylor has extended deadlines for criminal jury trials, preliminary hearings and other matters. During this time, civil judicial officers largely elected to pause jury trials and prioritized virtual mandatory settlement conferences.
The Central District of California announced earlier this week that all federal trials would resume on Feb. 22.
