Judge Elizabeth Feffer served on the Los Angeles Superior Court for 13 years before entering into alternative dispute resolution and serving as a private judge.
Judge Feffer presided over more than 75 civil jury trials, more than 500 civil bench trials, hundreds of evidentiary hearings, and numerous settlement conferences, with a diverse range of complex factual and legal issues. Judge Feffer specializes in conducting mediations, arbitrations, discovery references, and private trials with ADR Services, Inc.
While on the bench, Judge Feffer presided over an unlimited jurisdiction civil independent calendar court, a civil trial court, and a family law court at the downtown Stanley Mosk Courthouse.
Judge Feffer's judicial experience includes nearly every type of civil litigation matter: labor/employment, business/commercial contract and partnership disputes, real estate and land use, entertainment, personal injury (including catastrophic physical injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and sexual abuse), insurance coverage, medical and dental malpractice, legal malpractice, elder abuse (physical and financial), products liability, construction defect and architect malpractice, banking industry disputes, intellectual property, commercial and residential landlord/tenant (including rent control), police liability (excessive force, civil rights, false arrest/imprisonment), and eminent domain.
Judge Feffer earned her J.D. at the USC Gould School of Law, her M.A. at the USC Annenberg School for Communication, and her B.A. from UCLA (where she was a sportswriter for the Daily Bruin).
Judge Feffer is a member of the California, Arizona, and Idaho State Bars. Judge Feffer is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court; Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals; United States District Courts in California (Central and Southern Districts), Arizona, and Idaho; and the United States Bankruptcy Court, District of Idaho. Prior to her appointment to the bench, Judge Feffer served as a partner and trial lawyer litigating civil actions in state and federal court, on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants.
