On Oct. 10, the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association (SCCLA) celebrated its 48th Anniversary Installation and Awards Banquet, honoring legal professionals and leaders for their contributions to Asian American communities. Among the notable recognitions, the late U.S. District Judge Ronald S.W. Lew posthumously received a Lifetime Achievement Award, acknowledging his historic role as the first Chinese American appointed to the federal bench in the continental United States and his influence on the legal community. The evening also featured the inauguration of the 2023 Board of Governors and the presentation of SCCLA scholarships and fellowships awards.
