3 LA judges set to retire

Mitchell L. Beckloff, Donna L. Quigley Groman and Yvette M. Palazuelos have not disclosed their post-retirement plans.

Three Los Angeles County Superior Court judges — Mitchell L. Beckloff, Donna L. Quigley Groman and Yvette M. Palazuelos — are slated to retire in March, April and May.

Juvenile justice court Judge Donna L. Quigley Groman’s last day on the bench is expected to be March 25. She practiced family law before becoming a juvenile court referee, then a court commissioner and finally being elected to the Superior Court in 2004.

Beckloff will retire from the bench in April from Dept. 86 at Stanley Mosk Courthouse. He was appointed in 2007 by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. He practiced with Gorman before they went on the court.

Palazuelos spent 10 years as a federal prosecutor before joining the Superior Court. She has had assignments in El Monte and East Los Angeles criminal courts before moving to the downtown civil court. Palazuelos’ last day on the bench is slated for March 29 with a retirement date of May 15.

None of the judges said if they planned to return to private practice or ADR after they leave the court.
