Sanford Jossen brings 42 years of intense “in the trenches” litigation experience to the process. He has tried cases, done his own appeals, and petitioned the California Supreme Court for review. He was a seminal member of the United States District Court Settlement Officers Panel and the Mediation Panel of the California Court of Appeal. He began his arbitration experience with the Los Angeles Superior Court in 1987 and was a member of the Los Angeles Superior Court Mediation Program from its inception until its conclusion, at which time he was on the Executive Committee. Mr. Jossen was a longstanding member of the American Arbitration Association and has handled many Kaiser and UIM arbitrations as well as arbitrations involving attorney-client and attorney-attorney fee disputes.
Mr. Jossen has handled thousands of arbitrations and mediations and has honed his skills over four decades litigating and mediating thousands of catastrophic injuries arising from all types of automobile, motorcycle, bicycle, premises liability and other accidents, Government Code 835 [dangerous condition of public property cases], civil rights and 42 USC 1983 cases and is fully familiar with claims against government entities. Mr. Jossen initiated the first case involving McClaren Hall [2001] and litigated hundreds of sexual molestation cases against governmental, foster care, schools and private entities.
Mr. Jossen focuses his expertise on sensitive cases, particularly in the area of sexual molestation and other significant injuries and needy and difficult clients.
