Paul E. Garrison, Esq., is a JAMS neutral with decades of legal and managerial experience, including as a corporate executive in financial services, energy, retail and higher education. Mr. Garrison has successfully negotiated settlements in multimillion-dollar commercial and employments disputes. He brings a balanced perspective to challenging disputes due to his experience handling complex problems in sophisticated business settings. He is adept at tailoring the ADR process to meet today’s business needs and offers frank case analysis based on his firsthand knowledge of the benefits, to both parties, when disputes are resolved early, efficiently and without costly litigation. Prior to JAMS, he managed his own ADR firm and served as a full-time neutral for 15 years.

As a corporate executive, Mr. Garrison served as the director of legal and regulatory affairs for AAA Northern California, Neveda and Utah, managing the legal department’s litigation and operations. He also served as the general counsel and corporate secretary of Transfield Services’ domestic operations, where he was responsible for managing all the legal and regulatory affairs of the company.

Mr. Garrison worked at Wells Fargo for almost 12 years, initially serving as vice president and senior counsel, handling employment matters and managing litigation, including class actions. He was then promoted to vice president and manager of corporate employee relations, where he oversaw four dynamic business units. During this time, he supervised a team whose role was to develop and interpret employment policies and practices and to resolve employee grievances in the 155,000-employee enterprise.

Mr. Garrison has held leadership positions at the National Bar Association, Bar Association of San Francisco and the State Bar of California. He also served as the general counsel for Charles Houston and California Black Lawyers.
