Robert M. Cohen is well respected in the mediation community as being a passionate, creative, earnest, and practical mediator. Possessing excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to rapidly build trust, his settlement rate is superior. He is well known for his ability to bring closure to contentious, personality-driven disputes.

Cohen has mediated several hundred litigated matters as a mediator and advocated as litigation counsel in several hundred more. Cohen is Co-Chair of the Beverly Hills Bar Association Mediation Section which presents monthly CLE sessions featuring preeminent mediators and is involved in numerous training and continuing education programs. Prior to becoming a mediator Cohen was a partner in two Beverly Hills law firms focusing on real property and personal injury litigation.

Cohen has tried more than 100 bench, arbitration and jury trials and has been involved in well over 1000 disputed matters.

As a Mediator, Cohen handles a wide variety of litigation matters and disputes, including personal injury, property damage, construction, real estate, leasing, landlord tenant, habitability, HOA, business, partnership, and commercial collection matters. Besides being an empathetic listener, Cohen helps the parties and counsel focus on the factual and legal issues in dispute and always looks for creative solutions that will bring closure and settlement to the most challenging of cases.
