San Diego law firm honored for supporting Navy Reserve

A ceremony, held aboard the historic USS Midway in San Diego on June 11, recognized 50 employers, including the San Diego law firm Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP, for their support of Navy Reserve Sailors.

CEO and Managing Partner Stanley R. Gorom III accepted the award on behalf of the firm. "I enjoyed the rare privilege of spending the day touring the San Diego and Coronado Naval Bases and meeting many of our Navy personnel while they were hard at work," Gorom said. "The scope of their efforts, their hard work, hospitality, and great humor were incredibly impressive."

Associate attorney John D. Drdek nominated the firm for the honor. Drdek is a lieutenant commander in the Navy Reserve and deployed with Special Operations Joint Task Force to Afghanistan in 2012. He's been with the law firm since February 2023.

The all-day event aboard the Midway included demonstrations by military working dogs and a chance to meet members of the Navy SEALS.

The crowd also were given tours of the Midway and other ships. Vice Admiral John Mustin addressed them on the deck of the USS Tripoli. "We're here to show our thanks. Your support of your Navy Reserve employees is critical to our bi-coastal nation's ability to maintain maritime dominance and to protect our economic vibrancy, our prosperity and our security, which, frankly, depends on the seas," Mustin said.
