26 years of service

Colonel

Serving 26 years as a US Marine I trained for war, trained others for war and deployed to combat zones multiple times. I observed firsthand how unintended effects often overwhelm intended effects. As a prosecutor I consider the ripple effect my handling of a case has across the family, the friends, and the communities of both the victim and the defendant. The justice we seek must be a long term one in its effect on all.

40 years ago, I stepped up to take an oath not really understanding the path I was committing to. Now, as a veteran, I have a reverence for those that have gone before, those that serve now and those that will serve in the future. I have been forever changed by a profession that offers discomfort, denial and death. I have shared a table with our country's Founding Fathers.
