Judge, Sonoma County Superior Court

Served 1994-1998

Captain

Service before self is a value instilled in every member of the military and necessary to accomplish the mission. I believe it is also necessary for the functioning of a society based on the rule of law. Individuals must contribute beyond the boundaries of their own personal interests. My role as a judge is to serve all who come before the court seeking justice. I am humbled by the opportunity to do so.

I carry with me an obligation to honor the courage, bravery, and sacrifices of my fellow veterans. Now and throughout America's history, their commitment to the preservation of our nation creates the space where peace can exist. Only because of that am I allowed to work to uphold the principles of our constitutional freedoms. It is an honor to do so, and my awareness of the purchase price of that peace is ever present.
