Captain
Earning my commission and serving as a Marine Corps officer provided me opportunities I would not otherwise have enjoyed to plumb the depths of my perseverance and tenacity. My experience deepened my sense of integrity and compassion. I learned to live the Marine Corps ethos of ductos exemplo - leadership by example. These became ingrained aspects of my character that have guided me personally and professionally. When people thank me for my service, I politely thank them for their support. But what I'm really thinking is "are you kidding me, your tax dollars PAID me for the most incredible time of my life!" I'm just incredibly grateful for the training and experience, which forged the person I am today. I'm also grateful for the bond I share with other veterans, particularly Marines and others who have served in combat.
