My military service was an amazing foundation for practicing law. As an Marine Corps infantry officer, I was taught to make tactical decisions in the absence of complete (or even favorable) facts. I apply this every day when litigating complex cases on behalf of our clients. No fact pattern will ever be complete or perfect, but early and decisive decisions about case strategy are critical to giving our clients the best chance of successfully resolving their legal issue in a way that most supports their business needs.
My military service also taught me to remain calm when the world around me is chaotic. Whether it is a looming filing deadline or difficult facts to overcome at trial, my three combat tours as an infantry officer gave me the foundation to remain poised and focused on solving whatever problems our team or clients face regardless the challenges in our way.
The Marine Corps blessed me with many opportunities to try to prove that I am worthy of the title United States Marine and I hope my service honored that legacy.
